Serves 4
Ingredients:
1 raw banana
½ cup freshly grated coconut
¼ tsp chili powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
A few Peppercorns
4 Small red onions
1/8 tsp Cumin
1 cup Curd
Salt
Tempering:
Coconut Oil
Fenugreek
Mustard
Red Chilies
Curry leaves
Method:
- Peel and slit bananas then cut into small pieces.
- Mix together bananas, chili powder half the turmeric and salt and enough water to cook bananas fairly
- Dry grind coconut, peppercorns, rest of turmeric and cumin to a very fine paste.
- When the bananas are cooked, add ground ingredients and well-beaten curd.
- Simmer, stirring occasionally till the mixture becomes quite thick (10 to 15 min)
- Season with mustard seeds, red chilies, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves in coconut oil
