I find atheists a proud clan. They are a breed that holds itself above religious people because they are not bound by blind beliefs and irrational thoughts. They are a breed that firmly believes in science. Or so they think.
Funnily enough, I have found true followers of science to believe in God. Take Albert Einstein for example. Or Pascal. Or take Mani Bhaumik, the co-inventor of Lasik, if you want to pick someone who's still alive. Any true follower of science knows and admits that science cannot explain everything, and gives unexplainable events the benefit of doubt.
Most self proclaimed 'Atheists' though, are often as bad as blind believers themselves. Let me explain.
There is a profound difference between religion and spirituality. Spirituality centers around bliss - that bliss which is common to all spiritual people, irrespective of the colour of their skin, the country or religion they belong to, and their age. Religion, on the other hand, is something man blindly follows without knowing the whats or whys. I find that atheists belong to the same category - their religion is science.
I find atheists vehemently refuting any claims I make, that it has been scientifically proven that energy enters from the head and exits through the hand during a Reiki healing. But they will conveniently believe that there are billions of stars in the universe, that there was a Big bang millions of years before anything, forget humans, ever existed! What is this but blind, selective belief? Religious people interpret and twist their religions to their comfort, and atheists do the same. They choose to believe some things, and turn a blind eye to the rest. What then, makes them any different from the religious?
